A Decade Gone. A Legacy In Motion.
On October 17th in Wilmington, NC, two athletes — Chad Johnson and Robyn Magee — will take on the grueling 70.3 mile challenge of a Half Ironman. They will swim, bike, and run not for personal achievement, but in honor of Andrew Magee Skinner, Robyn’s late husband, a United States Navy submariner and sailor who died ten years ago, October 12, 2016.
The Ten Year Tribute Tri.
This year marks a decade since Andrew’s death— ten years of grief and heartache, but also ten years of memories carried, ten years of service honored, ten years of a legacy that continues to inspire.
To honor him this year, Chad and Robyn are launching The Ten Year Tribute Tri, a fundraiser supporting the Travis Manion Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering veterans and families of the fallen to lead with character and serve their communities. Every mile of this race is a symbol: The swim reflects the Navy waters Andrew once served upon, the bike represents the long road families travel after loss, the run embodies the endurance required to carry a legacy forward.
Your support fuels more than a race — it fuels programs that build character in youth, strengthen veteran communities, and ensure that the stories like Andrew Magee Skinner are never forgotten.
Join us in honoring Andrew’s life, his service, and the enduring spirit he left behind. Because a decade may pass, but his legacy still moves us.
